About Aramex Dubai

Aramex is an international logistics, courier, and package delivery business with Emirati (Jordanian Origin) roots that is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Fadi Ghandour and Bill Kingson established the business in Amman, Jordan, in 1982. It is the first business with an Arab basis to list on the NASDAQ. On the Dubai Financial Market, Aramex is listed. The company’s CEO is Othman Aljeda. Aramex employs over 18,000 people throughout 70 nations.

History

Fadi Ghandour co-founded Aramex with his business partner Bill Kingson in 1982, shortly after completing his BA in political science. Fadi Ghandour expressed interest in the firm and Kingson, a friend of his father who runs a small courier service in New York, talked with him about it. Following their meeting, Kingson recommended a partnership with Ghandour to launch a courier company in the Middle East.

The company got its start in Amman, Jordan. Arab American Express wanted to establish itself as the region’s first courier service. The first foreign delivery made by the business was a document to New York City for the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance, which has its headquarters in Jordan. The company’s name was simplified to Aramex after two years.
