A Brief Overview – SEWA
Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, usually known as SEWA, is a government organization in the Emirate of Sharjah that supplies electricity, water, and natural gas to all its residents.
SEWA has seen massive growth since its establishment as a private firm called Sharjah Electricity & Water Resources Co., after which its ownership was transferred to the Sharjah Government.
Mission
His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qassimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, issued his visionary order on the foundation of SEWA as a financially and administratively independent entity. It was carried out considering the huge economic and industrial expansion boom seen in the Emirate of Sharjah.
